Minister with responsibility for the Public Service, Horace Dalley, says the terms of the heads of agreement signed with the unions representing public sector workers are being implemented on target.

Dalley told the parliament this afternoon that since the deal was signed in March some $9.9 billion has been paid out to various categories of civil servants.
He pointed out that the payments included arrears under the last seven per cent increase, outstanding sums in relation to the reclassification of teachers and the one-off payment of $25,000 to all public sector workers.
The minister with responsibility for the Public Service noted that 85 per cent of public sector workers have signed the heads of agreement.
The deal sees public sector workers foregoing an increase in wages and salaries for three years.
The agreement was one of the key benchmarks for Jamaica to secure the deal with the International Monetary Fund.
Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Audley Shaw, questioned what provisions are in place to offset the impact of inflation on wages and salaries.
According to him, there are complaints among public sector workers that rising costs and the devaluation of the Jamaican dollar are burdening their already stretched pockets.
Dalley said he was aware of these concerns and discussions are ongoing with unions representing public sector workers about mitigation efforts.
