Parents urged to treat each child as their own

The new head of the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), Deputy Superintendent Veronica Gilzeane has made a passionate plea for each adult to be the parent of just one child even if that child is not their own.
Gilzeane took over the reins from Superintendent Gladys Brown in September.
She says her plan is to tackle what she describes as a don't care attitude to the abuse of children in Jamaica.
She explains that she wants a change in culture where persons turn a blind eye to the plight of children.
Gilzeane says she also plans to address the issue of boys who have been victims of abuse.
She says CISOCA remains committed and its investigators stand ready to tackle issues that affect children.
