Shrewsbury trial put off till Tuesday
2013-10-25 07:42:01 | (0 Comments)
The absence of defence attorneys yesterday forced the postponement of the trial against the two policemen implicated in the murders of three men in Shrewsbury, Westmoreland in March.
The case was deferred until October 29, when the policemen appeared in the Westmoreland Circuit Court yesterday.
Their attorney Peter Champagnie had sent word that he would not be available to attend court.
Constables Kenroy Hines and Damane Campbell are charged in connection with the shooting deaths of cousins Andrew Brydson, Triston Brydson and Kingsley Green.
The police say they were killed during a shootout.
They told the Independent Commission of Investigation that they were responding to a report that gunmen were in the area.
