2013-11-02 08:28:29 | (0 Comments)
The management of the St Annís Bay Hospital and the union representing some ancillary staff at the facility are to meet today in an effort to resolve a dispute which led the workers to strike yesterday.
Yesterday, the hospital said it had activated contingency measures in light of the industrial action and would be seeking to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible.
The hospitalís management said the industrial action stems from efforts to have a particular member of staff who was recently reassigned reinstated.
The hospitalís management said the matter of the reassignment was the subject of a conciliatory meeting with union representatives under the auspices of the Ministry of Healthís Industrial Relations Department.
It said the issues were thoroughly outlined and all views were aired in an atmosphere of cordiality and cooperation.
Further meetings are to take place at the Ministry of Labour this morning beginning at 11 oíclock.
