A broad Trough across Jamaica is expected to continue influencing weather conditions across the island this evening through to Saturday. Additionally, a Tropical Wave is expected to move across Jamaica on Friday evening and is likely to enhance shower and thunderstorm activity over the island.

Satellite imagery and Radar observations indicate that moderate showers and isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms have been affecting northern and southeastern parishes today.

The forecast is for periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times, to continue affecting northern and southeastern parishes tonight and tomorrow morning, spreading across most parishes by Saturday.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
