U.S. Embassy Kingston hosts synchronized swimming workshop

On Wednesday, October 3, 2012, the U.S. Embassy, Kingston hosted students from schools across the corporate area for an introductory/development level workshop on Synchronized Swimming.

 The workshop was lead by Charlotte Davis, International Clinician with participation by Emily Drew, International Clinic Demonstrator. Judy McGowan, President US Synchro & Synchronized Swimming Technical document author was also present and received a first-hand look at various aspects of the island’s Synchronized Swimming Program. A vibrant Diahann Campbell, Director of Synchro Stars Jamaica assisted in leading the afternoon’s activities.

 Participants were informed on new ways and ideas to improve their team’s techniques. The workshop was organized by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy and Synchro Stars, Jamaica in partnership with Cypress Swim Club, U.S.A.

 Participating schools included, Wolmers Preparatory, American International School Kingston (AISK), Queens Preparatory, Immaculate Conception High School, Ardenne Preparatory and Extension School, Mona Preparatory School, Immaculate Conception Preparatory School, St Hughs High School, St Hughs Preparatory School, Gaynstead High and Campion College.
