It has been brought to the attention of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) that unscrupulous persons purporting to be workers of the Authority/regional offices are making demands for payment to remove household and or hurricane debris from some residents.

We do not condone such behaviour and advise that no member of the team is authorized to collect money from residents because we do not charge for the removal of household solid waste or hurricane related debris from communities. We are asking persons approached to report the matter to us at 1 888 253 2652, 448 3220 or email at customerservofficer@gmail.com with the vehicle license plate number, the date and time of the incident along with any other pertinent details so that we can investigate the matter and bring this practice to a stop.

The Authority is conscious of the delay being experienced by some residents in the collection of household waste and apologizes for same. We assure residents that we have just about cleared majority of the hurricane related debris and that normality will be restored to the collection of household waste as soon as possible.
