Come Saturday, December 15, the Rotary Club of Trafalgar, New Heights (RCTNH) will renew its annual push to increase Jamaica’s blood supplies. This year’s Blood Drive is being undertaken in partnership with the Calvary Gospel Assembly Church and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Blood Drive takes place at
the Calvary Prep
School on the church grounds (129 Sundown Crescent, Kingston 10).
Saturday’s Blood Drive is the RCTNH’s fourth attempt to raise national awareness of the need to give blood. The project seeks to add to the National Blood Transfusion Service’ (Blood Bank) supplies of the precious liquid.
Blood donors are asked to bear the following tips in mind before making their deposits on Saturday:
• Females especially should take iron supplements;
• Eat dark leafy greens;
• Get a good night’s rest;
• Drink lots of nutritious fluids;
• Have a meal at least half an hour up to three hours prior to making donation;
• Bring TRN/ Driver’s License;
• Take a friend who did not sign up, originally
The Rotary Club of Trafalgar, New Heights (RCTNH) is unique in its composition.It was chartered in 2008 as the first “New Generation” Rotary club in Jamaica that brought together a diverse array of young professionals.
