Professor Trevor Munroe to address anti corruption conference in Trinidad and Tobago

Professor Trevor Munroe, Executive Director of National Integrity Action is one of a number of international presenters to address an Anti- Corruption Conference to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Port of Spain Trinidad.

The one-day conference hosted by Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute (TTTI) will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., under the theme: “Regulating Against Opportunities for Corruption” and comes against the background of Trinidad and Tobago’s score of 39 (out of 100) in the 2012 Corruption Perceptions Index.

“I feel extremely honoured to have been asked by the Chairman of TTTI, Deryck Murray, to be a part of this landmark conference and indeed to join the other panelists including Bertrand de Seville, a lawyer by profession, who has advised governments and numerous international organizations on various aspects of anti-corruption policy and practice” confirms Professor Munroe.

“I shall be speaking on the topic – Regulating Political Party Finance.”

Trinidad, and its twin island Tobago, like Jamaica is fighting corruption and the organizers are using the opportunity to bring together local and international experts to share experiences and learn from each other.

TTTI, is a chapter of Transparency International and like NIA is an independent, not-for-profit, non-political civil society organization that works to reduce corruption and foster good governance by building awareness of the ill effects that corruption is having on the nation’s prosperity.
