Generation 2000 (G2K), the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), welcomes the update from the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) on the Richard Azan/Spalding Market controversy in light of a written request made to the OCG on May 29, 2013.

“We recognize the need for the OCG to be diligent and thorough in its investigations of such a matter” said Floyd Green, President of G2K. “However the OCG must ensure that the country is given timely updates when these matters are commenced lest he be thought to be sleeping on the job.”

Generation 2000 impresses upon the Office of the Contractor General the need for the provision of a timeline when dealing with matters of importance to the nation.

G2K is still expressing concern over the monitoring of the government’s mega projects, namely the North South Link of Highway 2000. G2K wants to know what steps are being taken by the OCG to ensure that there is transparency, accountability and probity in the implementation of the project as stated previously in the written request sent to the Office of the Contractor General on May 29, 2013.
