The National Works Agency (NWA) has commenced a Hot Mix patching programme along selected roadways in St. Ann. The programme which is a part of the Capital A J$200M Patching Works Programme is intended to improve mainly truck routes in the parish, as well as to improve traffic flow along these corridors.

Under the programme a total of 1850 square metres of roadway will be patched in the townships of St. Ann’s Bay and Ocho Rios. The Davis Town to Golden Grove and the Mount Diablo to Colegate main roads will also benefit under this phase of the project.

Community Relations Officer of the NWA Northeastern Region, Natalee Bloomfield, says that the project, which is valued at $4.97 million, commenced on February 5 and will continue for four (4) days. The works are being undertaken by one of the Agency’s Force Account Teams.

The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey posted warning and directional signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
