Digicel granted new 15 year licences by the Government of Jamaica

Digicel is pleased to confirm that it has been granted a number of new licences to operate by the Government of Jamaica. With its original licences up for renewal next year, Digicel has secured new 15 year licences for domestic, mobile, carrier and service provision. These new licences come into effect in 2015.

In addition, Digicel has been granted a licence in the 700Mhz spectrum to deliver LTE services to the people of Jamaica. This is the only LTE licence to be granted to an operator in Jamaica.

Since Digicel’s launch in Jamaica in 2001, it has continually focused on providing best value, best network and best service to its growing customer base. Today, Digicel is proud to serve over 2.1 million Jamaicans and to have grown from Jamaica across the Caribbean, Central America and Asia Pacific.  Today, Digicel has operations in 32 countries serving over 13 million customers worldwide.
