Inception keeps getting better

This September, The UWI Western Jamaica Campus' Multipurpose Court comes alive with Montego Bay's hottest and most fashionable people. Exquisite foods, top shelf liquor and the best DJs will all be a part of this year's Freshers' Fete dubbed Inception.

Scheduled for Friday September 19, this year marks the fifth staging of the event and according to WJC's Cultural and Entertainment Affairs Chairperson, Joleine Longman, the event has experienced tremendous improvement and growth since its genesis in 2010.

"Inception has moved away from being exclusively a WJC party, to an event that the general public has taken a keen interest in. Montegonians mark their calendars for the event every year in anticipation for Inception," remarked Longman.

The overwhelming interest in Inception has resulted in new sponsorship this year from corporate Jamaica, including telecommunication giant LIME, and the inclusion of a VIP area courtesy of food and beverage expert, Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited.

With the acquisition of these sponsorships, the Guild of Students is currently undergoing negotiations with other famous rum brands that are interested in expanding WJC's foray into entertainment by becoming this year's title sponsor. Although Inception is often lauded as a benchmark for event execution in the tourist haven of Montego Bay, WJC Guild of Students is eager to raise the bar in delivering unparalleled customer and party experiences. This year, the Guild looks forward to carrying out that agenda under the theme "The New Genesis".

Inception-The New Genesis, will be a showcase for potential patrons and sponsors alike, as the Guild undergoes the arduous task of re-inventing Inception. Longman noted that the theme signifies the revamping of inception to make it more appealing to partygoers and sponsors.

Those who are willing to pay a little extra will enjoy an opulent party experience; inclusive of alcohol and culinary delights of an international standard. Headlining the event are DJ Kentucky, DJ Absolute, DJ Timeless and DJ Drumline. General admission for Inception is $500 with college identification, $700 without and ladies enjoy a two for one admission special until 11 P.M. VIP admission is $2000 with college identification and $3000 without.
