The Chairman of the Board of the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA), The Hon. B. St. Michael Hylton, yesterday announced the appointment of Mr. Nari Williams- Singh, J.P., as Director General of the JCAA. Mr. Williams-Singh’s appointment became effective February 1, 2015.

Mr. Williams-Singh joined the JCAA in 1997 as an Airworthiness Inspector (Avionics), having previously worked with Air Jamaica Holdings Ltd. and Sky Charter Ltd., Ontario, Canada as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.  His successful career at the JCAA has spanned various assignments of progressive responsibility, with appointments as Director of Flight Safety, Deputy Director General – Regulatory Affairs and, most recently, as the JCAA’s Acting Director General from October 6, 2014.

Mr. Williams-Singh has amassed a wealth of experience in the aviation industry, and particularly, in regulatory affairs, having had lead responsibility for oversight activities related to flight safety within Jamaica’s airspace and the economic regulation of the industry to ensure its safe and orderly development.

On behalf of the JCAA’s Board, Management and staff, the Chairman has congratulated Mr. Williams-Singh on his appointment as Director General, and has extended best wishes for success, as he leads the Authority in actualizing its mandate and mission.

The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) is the statutory organization within the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing, which is responsible for regulating Jamaica’s aviation industry and supporting its safe and orderly development.
