The Office of the Contractor General concludes two (2) Special Investigation Reports

The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) on March 24, 2015 concluded two (2) Special Investigation Reports. The Investigation Reports completed by the OCG, concerned the following matters:

1. Special Report of Investigation Conducted into the Circumstances Surrounding Allegations of Nepotism, Conflicts of Interest, Irregularity and/or Impropriety in the Award of Government Contracts at the Hanover Parish Council to Persons Affiliated with the then Mayor of the Hanover Parish Council.

2. Special Report of Investigation Conducted into the Circumstances Concerning the Award of Certain Contracts to One Touch Construction and Equipment Limited, formerly One Touch Tours and Equipment Limited, by the St. Thomas Parish Council.

In keeping with the requirements of the Contractor General Act, copies of the referenced OCG Reports were submitted to the requisite State Authorities. The OCG was also advised that the Reports were tabled in the House of Representatives on March 24, 2015 and in the Senate on March 27, 2015.

In the interest of public transparency, and acting pursuant to the special powers that are reserved to a Contractor General by Section 28 (4) of the Contractor-General Act, the OCG’s Special Investigation Reports have now been published on the OCG’s website at URL: http://www.ocg.gov.jm.
