Supreme Ventures Foundation (SVF), in association with Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), announced today, an initiative called ‘Go for Gold,’ a fundraising raffle to support Jamaica’s team to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.

Dr. David McBean, Chairman of SVF in his remarks said that “The raffle is aimed at raising over $30M as part of the Jamaica 50th anniversary of Independence projects, that will help prepare Jamaica’s athletes for the upcoming Olympic games, showcase their talent in the Supreme Ventures/Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships in June, and contribute to the Jamaica Olympic Association’s (JOA) efforts for our team to compete in the games.”

The Go for Gold raffle, which will be the first of its kind in Jamaica, will be available from April 23 through to May 26, 2012. Tickets will cost $300 and can be obtained from any Supreme Ventures Agent location island-wide. Tickets will be available from the terminals everyday, including Sundays.

Supporters of the Go for Gold Raffle will win over 400 prizes during the five week period.  These include Gold Medal Prize packages of 7 all-expense paid trips (each for 2 persons) to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Prizes for each book for the Go for Gold raffle will be drawn on the Wednesday following the close of sale for each week.  The prize draw each week will see the award of Gold, Silver, Bronze and subsidiary prizes.
All Jamaicans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. Tickets are limited. All Jamaicans should play their part in supporting Jamaica’s team to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Each Gold Medal package include hotel accommodation from August 7 through to 13, tickets to an array of exciting events including the Men’s and Women’s Semi-finals and Finals of the 200M, 400M, Hurdles, 4x100M and 4 x 400M Relays, Medal Ceremonies and so much more, plus 500 pounds in spending money.
The Silver Medal prize package on the other hand, will be awarded to 35 winners and consists of 46-inch LCD Television Sets and Home Theatre Systems, plus $100,000 cash, while the Bronze Medal prize package will be awarded to 63 winners and consists of 40-inch LCD Television Sets plus $50,000 cash.

Brian George – President & CEO of SVL, in highlighting the features of the raffle said that “The raffle will be the pioneer in online/real time raffles in Jamaica and it will utilize the lottery network and software capabilities of our technology partner – GTECH Jamaica.”

He further added that “There will be five raffle books available for sale over the five-week period of the fundraiser, therefore each week a new book will be available for sale with a finite number of tickets numbered sequentially. If a book is finished before the week is out, the next book in order will automatically open for sale. Purchasers will receive a special raffle ticket from the terminal that will detail the raffle book number and the relevant draw date for that raffle book.”
