Kingston, Jamaica 23rd April 2012
The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) has conducted reconnaissance of the Island after heavy rain over the past thirty six (36) hours and wants to inform the public that the regional bodies are working assiduously to clear roadways of deposited solid waste. Improper management, disposal and collection of solid waste are a threat to public health and a possible breeding ground for rats, rodents and vermin.
We want to assure the public that efforts are being made to complete this exercise within the shortest possible time and this should have minimal impact on the collection of residential solid waste because the team will be working nonstop over the next forty eight (48) hours.
