The National Water Commission (NWC) wishes to remind the public that it is still offering up to 50% write offs on water bill debts to its customers under the Cruncher 180 promotion.

The Cruncher 180 promotion, which is one of the Commission’s recently launched revenue collection initiatives, is aimed at active and disconnected accounts that are in arrears to the NWC for more than 180 days as well as illegally connected consumers.

The first leg of the promotion, which began on July 1, 2015, offered customers write offs of 60 % for the month of July and was extended to the 10th of August 2015. The second leg which is currently underway, features write-offs of 50 % and will run for the entire month of August; while the third leg which offers 40 % write-offs on debts will run for the month of September.

These offerings are all part of the NWC’s drive to aid customers in clearing their debt and bringing delinquent accounts up to date.

NWC warns that failure on the part of indebted customers to take advantage of the various offers will result in the expansion and intensification of revenue recovery activities against them.   These activities will include disconnection from the NWC’s water and sewerage network, prosecution and arrest of persons, execution of bailiff activities and the initiation of civil action for recovery through the courts which may ultimately result in the sale of properties to recover long outstanding debts.

The NWC urges persons to visit their nearest commercial office in order to take advantage of these lucrative offers.
