Generation 2000 (G2K), the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party came out strongly against Minister Ronald Thwaites for his irresponsible and unfounded attack on the Jamaica Labour Party while he addressed  supporters at a PNP conference in Portia Simpson-Miller’s constituency of South West. St. Andrew.  Mr. Thwaites was responding to claims in the media that Portia Simpson-Miller has been missing in action, which has led to the chaos that has overcome the PNP.

“If PNP party insiders are accusing Mrs. Simpson Miller of being absent then Mr. Thwaites should take the matter up with them. The old tactic of deflecting attention to the JLP when the PNP is in turmoil is deceitful and simply won’t work. ‘The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely and do good (Psalm 36:3),” said Matthew Samuda President of G2K. Mr. Samuda went on further to say that "the story only confirmed what Jamaicans have observed for years; that the Prime Minister has been absent, leaving the entire country rudderless."

The organization's disappointment in Mr. Thwaites grows each time he chooses to bring the politics to a low and tribal place. The Minister was irresponsible when he branded children, Jamaica's future as “leggo beasts”, much the same way he was irresponsible in his attacks on the JLP. Generation 2000 suggests that Minister focuses his energy on matters concerning his Ministry portfolio rather than tribal politics.
