The Jamaica Association of Transport Owners and Operators (JATOO) said it is ready to hold consultation with Transport Minister, Dr. Omar Davies, on the proposal for a fare increase.
We are most pleased that, Dr. Davies, has responded to us on the matter, and we are now ready for delivery on the eve of the presentation of the 2012- 2013 budget presentation.
The communting public and the state of the economy will take centre stage in the consideraton of the bottom line of our request for a 40% increase in fares.
Our proposal for a fare increase was submitted to the Mininstry of Transport, on April 23, 2012, and our office has received a response on May 2, 2012.
