NDM comments on wave of murders in Jamaica

National Democratic Movement | 2016-05-04 00:00:00

The NDM has expressed deep sadness, disappointment and deeply dismay at the spiralling wave of senseless  murders in Jamaica.

The Movement said the barbaric attacks on our people, including police personnel and missionaries who come to Jamaica to help the poor are at unacceptable levels and that it can no longer be business as usual in Jamaica as far as national security and justice are concerned.

It questioned what kind of people we have become that vicious attacks on children, women, missionaries and other defenceless persons have become almost a daily way of life.

The NDM stated that it is thoroughly disheartened and horrified by the chilling double murder of U.S. Missionaries Harold Nichols and Randy Hentzel, in Albion Mountain, St. Mary, Jamaica, who left their country to selflessly and tireless give of their time, skills and love in service to the poor and vulnerable in Jamaica.

It is calling upon people who know the killers to hand them over to the relevant authorities and for the government to do its part in controlling crime in Jamaica.

The recent killing in St Thomas of a witness to 2 murders was a disgrace and clearly demonstrates the lack of critical thinking on the part of the Police.

“All Jamaicans must unite to bring an immediate end to this shocking reign of horror and terror!”, the NDM said in its statement.
