The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) notes the front page article published in today’s Jamaica Observer entitled “Law Breakers.”

The Commission wishes to advise the public and the Jamaica Observer that INDECOM has published four (4) Annual Reports to Parliament with a fifth (5th) to be released to the public in July 2016. We have also submitted five (5) Quarterly Reports since January 2014.

The first three (3) Annual Reports did not include the audited financial statements as these were not provided by the Auditor General’s Department (AGD) until July 4, 2014. The 4th Annual Report entitled “Command Responsibility for the Use of Force” which was published in December 2014 includes all (2010-2013) the audited financial statements provided by the AGD at that time.

It is important to also note that our audited financial statements for 2013-2014, which were submitted by AGD on February 2, 2016, are included in our next Annual Report. The Commission patiently awaits the audited financial statements for 2014-2015.

The Commission wishes to place on record our rejection of any intimation that we are in any way failing to performing our lawful duty to provide prompt annual reports regarding our affairs. We have always produced regular reports to update Parliament on our operations.
