CCRP to host meeting for Central Jamaica members in Mandeville

Seniors’ organization, the Caribbean Community of Retired Persons (CCRP), has announced that it will host a meeting with CCRP Central Jamaica members in Mandeville. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 6, at The Mandeville Hotel commencing at 10:30 am. As membership to the local non-profit has grown, the meeting is being held ahead of plans to expand CCRP by creating a Central Jamaica Chapter.

Current and prospective CCRP members who attend the meeting will be audience to a special presentation titled “The Myths of Ageing.” Award-winning family physician and CCRP Director Dr. Owen James will make the presentation. This forms part of CCRP’s mandate to educate seniors and the general population on issues such as wellness and the promotion of healthy ageing.

Representatives of Sagicor Life will also be in attendance to provide information regarding the CCRP/Sagicor major medical group health insurance plan.  The plan was designed by Sagicor exclusively for CCRP members in November 2014. Now in its second year of operation, the service provides affordable major medical insurance to its members, most of whom are over 60 years old.

The plan is open to all CCRP members aged 50 and over and covers a number of health services. These include: Laboratory & X-Ray Services, Diagnostic Services, Hospitalisation Services & Surgical Benefits and Overseas Emergency Benefits up to J$5 million.
