Two St. Catherine men are to face the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court next week to answer to several breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

They have been identified as 21-year-old Cavon Duncan and 22-year-old Ricardo Blake, both of Portmore, St. Catherine.

Reports from the Narcotics Police are that about 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 10, Duncan allegedly checked in at the Norman Manley International Airport to board a flight to Panama. During security screening by Port Security Officers, abnormalities were observed in his suitcase and Narcotics personnel were contacted.

Narcotics detectives subsequently searched the suitcase in his presence and found ten packages wrapped in foil paper and brown masking tape, each containing ganja weighing approximately 18.1 pounds. The ganja has an estimated street value of JA$72,000.00.

Duncan was taken into custody, while detectives continue to investigate. During a follow-up operation at a premises Portmore, St. Catherine, Blake was arrested.

Both men were subsequently charged jointly with the offences of:
1. Possession of Ganja
2. Dealing in Ganja
3. Taking Preparatory Steps to Export Ganja; and
4.  Conspiracy

They are scheduled at appear in the St. Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, May 16.
