NARCOTICS POLICE TO QUESTION JDF SOLDIER

The Narcotics Police are now making arrangements for a Jamaica Defence Force soldier and his wife to be interviewed in the presence of their attorney following their arrest in connection with the seizure of over 600 pounds of ganja, cash and other items in Greater Portmore, St. Catherine on Friday, May 11.

Reports received are that between 12:15 a.m. and 4:15 a.m., Narcotics detectives and Police officers from the St. Catherine South Division conducted an operation at a premises in the community, during which both compressed and loose ganja were found; the ganja weighed 651.8 pounds. Cash totalling JM $265,000, a licensed firearm along with ammunition and two motor cars were also seized.

The investigation continues.
