Select Brands, importers of a wide range of Wines and Spirits to Jamaica, announced today the addition of Demerara Distillers to their portfolio.

Demerara Distillers, began as a sugar cane co-operative over 300 years ago and has since grown to be one of the most famous rum companies in the world receiving, for the second year running, the Spirits Producer Trophy for the Americas & The Caribbean in the respected International Wines and Spirits Competition for 2011.

Their extensive portfolio includes Ivanoff Vodka,Tyler’s Liqueursand Lord Roberts Gin.  Most notable, however, is El Dorado rum.  El Dorado, whose distinctive flavor is characterized by a deep, mellow sweetness, is a product of three centuries of tradition and expertise and a production process unique to Demerara Distillers.  While the whole range of rums has been the consistent recipient of a number of well-respected awards, most recently, El Dorado 15 YO Special Reserve was awarded The Best Rum Worldwide Trophy for the seventh timein the International Wines and Spirits Competition for 2011.
