Finance Minister leads delegation for talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)

Finance and Planning Minister, Dr. the Hon. Peter Phillip and a delegation is now in WashingtonD.C., for talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Dr. Phillips, who left the islandtoday will also meet with Mr. Leonardo Martinez-Diaz, Deputy Assistant Secretary for theWestern Hemisphere in the United States Department of the Treasury.

The Finance Minister is also expected to have a series of meetings with representatives of theInter-American

Development Bank (IADB) on Jamaica’s proposed economic programme.The delegation will travel to New York to meet with representatives from other multilateralinstitutions and rating agencies to provide update on performance of

the Jamaican economy.The team will return to Jamaica on Friday, 13 July 2012.
