The Office of the Children's Registry (OCR) wishes to advise that several of its phone lines, including its toll free number 1-888-PROTECT, are currently out of service. This is due to damage to its PBX telephone system caused by lightening on Thursday, August 16.
The OCR has contacted its telecommunications provider regarding the matter and is anticipating a speedy response to the problem. The OCR wishes to apologize for any inconvenience this temporary issue may cause.
In the meantime, persons who want to make a report may do so at the following numbers: 908-2579 or 822-7031 (LIME) or 878-2882 (DIGICEL). The Registration Centre will continue to receive calls using the above numbers between the hours of 7:00am-11:00pm, Mondays to Fridays.
The OCR is also reminding persons that they may email their reports to report@ocr.gov.jm. In addition , persons have the option to submit reports to the OCR from their Blackberry phones using the recently launched Child Abuse Reporting System (CARS) which is available for free download in Blackberry App World.
For other matters, the OCR may be reached at 908-0246 or via email info@ocr.gov.jm .
