Gimbilyn Restaurant - Alhambra Inn

Gimbilyn restaurant at Alhambra Inn on Tucker Avenue made its debut last year in the gastronomic feast that The Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week (RW) provides..

Just over three years old, like its name (for the Jamaican gimbilyln fruit), the restaurant showcases original authentic Jamaican cuisine with a twist. As head chef Christopher Graham notes, “Lots of good stuff, Jamaican cuisine with a difference.”

According to banqueting manager, Karen Levy, RW is the perfect vehicle to showcase what Gimbilyn has to offer. And what a show they promise to put on during the week of November 7-14!

Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, Gimbilyn prides itself on offering a fine dining experience in true Jamaican style. Curried goat, oxtail, Linstead ackee basket and the brand-name Jamaican cuisine, jerk chicken supreme.

Known for its impressive collection of memorabilia, which dominates its decor, the restaurant offers a quaint and unique dining experience. With the option of dining inside or outside, its numerous waterfalls offer a soothing ambience.

And during RW or any time you choose to dine at Gimbilyn, Levy guarantees sizeable portions. “When you leave, your belly is full,” she says.
