Twisted Kilt Montego Bay
Its name may be twisted but its offerings are first rate.
The ideal location for sports enthusiasts, vacationers and party goers desirous of having a good night out on the town, the Twisted Kilt Pub in the tourist resort towns of Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, is the place to be any day of the week. It will most certainly be a hit with patrons during Restaurant Week in November.
Since opening for business in Jamaica last November, the Twisted Kilt has rapidly made a name for itself as a most popular hang out spot not only in Ocho Rios, but on Montego Bay’s busy Hip Strip. It has proved to be a hit with both locals and visitors alike.
For those with big appetites and for those looking for tasty and unique dishes, Restaurant Week provides the perfect opportunity for you to take advantage of the ‘specials’ that will be on offer at the Twisted Kilt.
For $1,600, patrons will be able to choose from the pub’s wide-ranging menu which includes chicken wings, a juicy hamburger, kilamey topped with jack and Swiss cheeses and mushrooms; and the fish and chips dish which is popular with patrons. The focus during Restaurant Week will be on some “unique saltfish dishes” says Andre Dixon, Co-owner and Chief Operating Officer at the Twisted Kilt in Ocho Rios.
He added that the Twisted Kilt is the “number one spot to watch sporting events (on big, flat screen TVs) and to hang out with family and friends”. In fact all major sporting events are shown daily inside the pub.
But just why was the name Twisted Kilt chosen? According to Dixon, the operators were looking for a unique name with an Irish flavour. It was all about bringing the “Irish pub vibe to Jamaica”. As such, the pub’s décor features rich dark woods and plush banquettes. This makes it easy to “cozy up with friends and a pint or two”.
In Ocho Rios, the Twisted Kilt is located at the Harbour Shops at Shop #2 Main Street while in Montego Bay it is located on the waterfront next door to the Doctor’s Cave Beach.
If you are merely looking to enjoy some good retro music on a Friday night, make a date with the Twisted Kilt during Restaurant Week. You will be treated to the best of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. The pub opens daily from 11:00 am to 2:00 a.m.
