A Salute to Woman
THE WEEKLY GLEANER | MARCH 24 - MA RCH 30, 2021 | www.jama ica-gleaner.com | I W HEN THE COVID-19 pan- demic hit last spring, Faith Greaves challenged her- self with a new business venture by acquiring over 10,000 square feet leased space in Etobicoke, inToronto. In October of 2020, she established The Mozia Professional Business Centre, located at 10 Belfield Road, turning it into a shared space concept that al- lows business owners to thrive, meet and network - without the additional overhead expenses. Greaves’ passion for undertaking community engagement strategies stemmed from her personal sense of stewardship, which she first created from her own backyard. From organising bread drives that operated from her home to participating on city advisory boards, and being a candidate for municipal government, Greaves has connected and engaged with people from all walks of life. Establishing the Mozia Brand is a response to her entrepreneurial calling. The brand includes her non-profit organisation, MoziaWomen’s Network Society, that has amandate to empower seniors, children, women, youth, and families. The organisation achieved an astounding milestone in February 2021 by going beyond and above its regular community responsibilities to offer health and wellness service to its membership, and a product of group insurance through one of the most reputable and well-established financial institutions in Canada. Group insurance is usually offered to employees (not members) of a non-profit. Greaves listens, and when asked, acts as an advocate to bring forward individuals’ lived experiences.
