The day is recognised to reflect upon the credit union movement’s history, promote its achievements, recognise hard work and share member experiences. ICU Day has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948. The ultimate goal is to raise awareness of the tremendous work that credit unions and other financial co-operatives are doing around the world and give members the opportunity to get more engaged. On October 21, the global credit union family will come together to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of ICU Day. Over 375 million credit union members of 86,451 credit unions, in 118 countries and six continents are celebrating ICU Day today.
