Congratulations 50 Strong Years of Growth & Impact | www.vmbs.com JAMAICA MORTGAGE BANK 50TH ANNIVERSARY I T WAS Dr Martin Luther King Jr who said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?” Over the 50 years of operation, the Jamaica Mortgage Bank has been committed to philanthropy and has contributed to its com- munity through various channels. In 2019, the bank established its corporate social responsibility pol- icy, thereby outlining a dedicated framework to ensure consistency in: a. Operating in a socially respon- sible and ethical manner; b. Fostering positive and healthy relationships within our community; c. Conducting our business in a manner which enhances profit maximisation while achieving our mandate. Prior to 2019, the bank made do- nations to many charities and wor- thy causes across Jamaica. These include a donation made 10 years prior, in June 2009, of $325,000 to the Aeolus Valley All-Age School in St Thomas to improve sanitary conveniences at the school. This ini- tiative was undertaken in collabora- tion with Food For The Poor, whose ‘Flush for Life’ islandwide sanitation project was aimed at raising J$20 million.
