NAME OF FEATURE | THE GLEANER | SUNDAY, JUNE 6, 2021 19 JAMAICA MORTGAGE BANK 50TH ANNIVERSARY Anniversary Scholarship, tenable at the University of Technology, Jamaica – Faculty of the Built Environment, geared particularly towards final-year students. The first recipient, Mr Gareth Johnson, was a final-year student reading for a Bachelor of Science degree in quan- tity surveying. The bank is currently in the pro- cess of awarding another scholar- ship for the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year. ADOPT A ROADWAY In March 2009, the Jamaica Mortgage Bank made the bold step and assumed responsibility for the maintenance of the median located at the intersection of Knutsford Boulevard and Trafalgar Road, and those along Trafalgar Road in prox- imity to the bank’s location, under the Adopt a Roadway initiative. This after years of faithfully contribut- ing to the project through the New Kingston Civic Association. The JMB is grateful to have been able to contribute to the various initiatives over the past 50 years and looks forward to a continuation of its philanthropic ventures for the next 50 years and beyond.
