NAME OF FEATURE | THE GLEANER | SUNDAY, JUNE 6, 2021 9 JAMAICA MORTGAGE BANK 50TH ANNIVERSARY Solomon and Mrs Lois Maynard joined the staff in September 1972. At the time of retirement, Mrs Solomon, or ‘Solly’ as she was affectionately called, had given 41 years of service to the JMB, cooking her way into the hearts of the other employees, while Mrs Lois Maynard retired in 1993 after 21 years of ser- vice, which, according to her file, included a stint as the acting gen- eral manager. In January 1981, Mr Earlrel Anderson joined the staff of the Jamaica Mortgage Bank as a secu- rity officer. Mr Andy, as he is widely known, is famous for his pleasant and helpful persona. After giving 34 years of service to the bank, he retired in 2015, but continued to serve as a relief security officer at the bank, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, up to early 2020. Mrs Janet Coley gave the bank 32 years of dedicated service. She joined the JMB in 1976 and re- tired in 2008. While at the bank, Mrs Coley became known for her excellent baking skills. Mrs Mavis Spence joined the bank two years after Mrs Coley, in 1978, and served the bank faithfully for 33 years up to her retirement as office adminis- trator in 2012. Danovan Blackburn joined the JMB team in 1994 and has served the JMB for 27 years. Yes, he is still a member of the team. Since being employed to the bank, Blackburn has served as messenger/chauffeur and currently occupies the post of security officer, which he assumed in February 2006. Blackburn has held his current position for an ex- tended period, which explains his overall knowledge and high level of performance. Marcia Morrison has been with the Jamaica Mortgage Bank since September 1996, serving the bank for the past 25 years. Morrison has remained consistent in the execution of her duties as office cleaner and we are pleased to still have her as a member of the JMB team.
