Earl Cruickshank, KemicaYoung, and NastassiaWilson are three young individuals who represent the future of the organisation and who are charting their course to success. FLYING HIGH IN VESSEL PLANNING Twenty-eight-year-old Earl Cruickshank is one of the rising stars of KingstonWharves. Hailing from Chudleigh Manchester, Earl is a graduate of Knox College and the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) where he studied Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He is parlaying all he learned at university and his on-the-job-experience into a positive career at Kingston Wharves Limited. Earl came to KingstonWharves in 2016 as an intern. He was so impres- sive that he was offered a permanent position as a vessel planner in the Planning Department that same year. In April 2020, he was promoted to the position of Junior Planning Specialist. “This department and the role of planners involves organising matters pertinent to the arrival and departure of vessels. We ensure that the various cargo going unto the vessels are positioned in such a way that they are protected frommishaps at sea. This includes ensuring that the correct size containers, weight, the hazardous cargo classifications, and all the other cargo parameters outlined by the vessel operators for the safe loading and off-loading of the vessels, are adhered to,” Earl explains. Operations Manager and his supervisor Cecil Maragh describes Earl as, “An exceptionally pleasant personality, quite confident, industrious with a positive job attitude,” adding,“He sits quietly at is desk throughout his shift and is on top of his game. He is also always aware of all that is happening in the planning department.”
