Nastassia Wilson NASTASSIA WILSON – PERSISTENCE WINS THE DAY Logistics Administrator at Kingston Wharves Nastassia Wilson is from Linstead, St Catherine. Her faith, passion for service and ambition con- tinue to propel her forward as she defies the circumstances of her humble beginnings. Nastassia attended the BogWalk High School andMoneague Community College, where she was certified in Computer Science. She attended the Caribbean Maritime University, where she completed a BSc. in Customs Processes, Immigration and Freight Forwarding. She is now doing a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management. The 27-years-old came to Kingston Wharves in 2017, after working for a group of companies that had a freight business. She started out in the Client Services Department. In just one year,she was promoted within the unit to one post above where she started. After proving her mettle and completing a supervisory management course, she would soon be understudying the supervisor. She was then elevated to the position of Team Leader, attending to the cashiers and the other senior functions of the department. In a show of supreme confidence, Kingston Wharves recently pro- moted Nastassia to the position of Logistics Administrator. Logistics is a fast-growing segment of the Kingston Wharves business, and the role of the logistics administrator is to handle the administrative and customs aspect of the operations. Specifically, she ensures customer engagement is carried out smoothly by handling their customs documentations in a timely and efficient manner. Her current supervisor, Operations Manager (Logistics), Everton Thomas says Nastassia is a natural talent. “She has hit the ground running in her new post as Logistics Administrator and is definitely ‘learning on the fly’. Her amiable personality coupled with her commitment to excellence has made her a perfect fit for the Logistics Department,”Mr Thomas declares. RISE CONTINUED FROM 41 K INGSTONWHARVES has estab- lished a Millennial Club to tap into the millennial mind-set. Classified as persons born between 1981 and 1996, they are young, strong and creative, often techno- logically and social media savvy. CEOMarkWilliams explained,“The KingstonWharves LimitedMillennial Club was established in 2019 to create a professional group within the KWL corporate environment that develops and nurtures young leaders who are accountable, com- mitted andwho strive for excellence in both their personal and corporate life. At KingstonWharves, we are big on succession planning, therefore we continue to employ a number of strategies to hone the skills and build character in our young people.” Club President Lafia Hamilton noted that the organisation has been focused on providing training, mentorship, coaching sessions and collaborative workshops with other corporate groups. “Our focus is on volunteerism, personal branding, networking, professionalism and management,” she noted.
