Page 24 Sunday July 4, 2021 W hen Milton Walker, having graduated from CARIMAC, joined the staff of JBC TV as a producer, he had absolutely no intention of tying his future to news. Walker was not a fan of the JBC newsroom, which he thought was too politicised at the time in the 1980s. Walker worked under Don Bucknor and had occasion to produce segments for a show, which he had narrated by Helene Coley. On occasion, he would offer Coley critical analysis of the newscast, which she read for JBC TV. One day, to his surprise, Coley told him that Cliff Hughes, who was then head of news at JBC, wanted to have a word with him. When he went to Mr. Hughes’ office, Cliff started asking him about his critical analysis of the news. Milton did not hold back and was not complimentary.
