Sunday July 4, 2021 Page 43 Where are they now Holford ‘Hol’ Plummer Holford ‘Hol’ Plummer served the RJR Communications Group for more than 50 years, starting as an engineer and retiring as a member of the board. Mr. Plummer is retired but still operates his vintage car business. “I wish Radio Jamaica all the best for many years to come. Seventy years is a milestone, and I hope that the Group continues to grow in strength.” Barbara Gloudon Barbara Gloudon served RJR for decades as the producer of radio dramas and host of Hotline . The chairman of the Little Theatre Movement (LTM) is currently in retirement. “I miss the interaction between me and the listeners some of whom have become almost family exchanging birthday cards and greetings.” She said: “RJR has been around for so long that it reminds me of when I was doing that outside broadcast with Paul Bogle from the Morant Bay Courthouse. I wish RJR well.” Norma Brown Bell Norma Brown Bell is now the community outreach officer at the RJRGLEANER Communications Group. “I am honoured to have been afforded the privilege of contributing, since the year 1972 in several capacities to this Jamaican institution, and through this medium, wish for Radio Jamaica a happy 70th anniversary.” Rosie Murray Rosie Murray is now the communications manager at the Whirlwind group of companies and continues to act on stage. “I wish to congratulate Radio Jamaica on their consistency, the wide spread of their reach and listenership across Jamaica, and their importance in developing so many media legends at the station.” Cliff Hughes Cliff Hughes is managing director and CEO of a radio station. Adrian Robinson Adrian Robinson retired from radio in 1964 but is still remembered today. He is retired after more than three decades as chairman and managing director of Marketing Counsellors Limited, the highly successful advertising agency that he established. Barry “G” Gordon Barry “G” Gordon is one of the most popular radio announcers of all time. He currently does the afternoon show out of Savanna-la-Mar via the Internet. Jeannie Hastings Jeannie Hastings remains on air with Starscope, which she has been presenting for well over four decades. She is also a highly acclaimed artist and jeweller and travels extensively outside of Jamaica in those pursuits. ?
