Radio Jamaica Celebrating 70 Years
Sunday July 4, 2021 Page 51 Another important aspect of the Cross Country Invasion is the compelling content it delivers through the church services and the entertainment packages, which can be shared via the Group’s broadcast platforms to thousands of other customers and stakeholders. “As is customary, we give road show attendees gifts as a thank you for participation in competitions, quizzes and such likes. From previous years, we now know that the gift they treasure most of all is the calendars we produce across the radio brands. We want people to remember we were in their communities and to look forward to us returning because sometimes it’s the little things that make people remember your event, and most importantly, having your brand in their space and the magical moments created by the events. “ Moving into 2020, the Group gave away thousands of calendars across the four radio brands-Radio Jamaica 94FM, Power 106, HITZ and FAME 95, as well as other items such as T-shirts, cups, umbrellas, pens, hats, and magazines. “ Cross County Invasion is a great event formula that adds to our field marketing strategy, and we want to see it get bigger and better and stay fresh and exciting. Four years ago, we added a benevolence element by creating a partnership with Digicel Foundation that focused on social outreach initiatives.” 2017 The RG Group partnership with the Digicel Foundation identifies well- deserved community needs in parishes across the island in order to facilitate making charitable donations during the five week period of the event. Presentations to the lucky institutions are carried out at the family fun day in each selected Cross Country region. Wilks-O’Grady concluded: “We are delighted that during 2020 and 2021 virtually we were able to impact the lives of hundreds of people in various communities across the country. Cross Country Invasion continues to be one of the most innovative vehicles we have in reaching out to all the various stakeholders, and we foresee this continuing for years to come. See you there next year!” continued from page 50 Group CEO, Gary Allen (right) makes a presentation to a Cross Country sports day winner.
