Royal Medical Centre

THE GLEANER, THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 2021 | www.jamaica-gleaner.com | F4 CONGRATULATIONS TO Dr Evan Nepaul and the team at Royale Medical Hospital for their sterling contribution in the field of healthcare as they celebrate 25 years. Royale Medical Hospital has been a pioneer facility in Westmoreland, being the first private hospital in the parish with a comprehensive range of services. These services range from outpatient to inpatient services supported by auxiliary services such as laboratory and imaging diagnostics. Over the years, they continue to provide excellent medical care to persons from all walks of life. I have known Dr Nepaul for most of my life and career. He is an exemplary physician who not only addresses the physical, but embraces a holistic approach when attending to each individual; that is, patient as well as caregiver. I have experienced first-hand the ‘royal’ care provided by the clinical teams, as well as the administrative staff, as several of my immediate relatives, over time, have had the pleasure of utilising the various services of the facility. In the last two weeks, one of my loved ones hadmajor surgery. I was again reminded of their kindness, service above self, compassion and good communication as essentials that the teamhas no doubt used to secure the public’s trust in their healthcare providers. My experience was enhanced by my interaction with all levels of staff – including the security officers, cleaners, administrative and medical teams. Once again, congratulations to Dr Nepaul and the Royale team for their contribution to the development of Jamaica, particularly the parish of Westmoreland, by providing accessible and qual ity healthcare. DR DIANNE CAMPBELL STENNETT MBBS, MPH, DrPH IT IS with great pride that I use this medium to give thanks to God for being our guide, to our invaluable clients, past and present, and members of staff who have gone beyond the call of duty to ensure that the Royale Hospital maintains its mantra, ‘Royale care at an affordable price’, for 25 years. The period 1996-2021 has been a journey of a lifetime. The experience and lessons learnt have been both exhilarating and sometimes depressing, but in the true sense of the word, we remained resilient, and stuck to the task of providing optimal healthcare to all our clients. In 2020, COVID-19 presented itself with a vengeance and was daunting at first, but as a team we squared our shoulders, took on the challenge, and today we are stronger for it. To all who made this journey one to look forward to, the directors, Dr and Mrs Nepaul, ancillary staff, security, doctors, nurses, reception, gardener, well-wishers and supporters, a big thank you. It is with great expectation that we anticipate the future, and hope, as long as God allows, to continue serving the community of Westmoreland and Jamaica. We hope to leave a legacy of having offered excellent customer care and so, through training and continued positive affirmations, we commit to keeping our staff happy and motivated to serve. Thanks for 25 great years, and God bless you all. MONICA EWART Administrator (Royale Medical Co Ltd) ROYALE MEDICAL 25TH ANNIVERSARY T HEWESTMORELAND Public Health Services congratulates Royale Medical Centre on 25 years of sterling service to the citizens of Westmoreland and beyond. Healthcare is best delivered in the context of positive public- private partnerships, and the RoyaleMedical Centre has been a key stakeholder in securing the health and wellness of our population. The COVID-19 pandemic has altered our lives, but we have all shown flexibility and adaptive skills in coping with the changes. The response needed is constantly changing, and this places demands on every individual so that, together, we can overcome the challenges and settle into a ‘new normal’. The Royale Medical Centre is to be commended, as it has demonstrated resilience and embraced the COVID-19 protocols in serving the public. They have also complemented the services offered in the public health sector. We encourage all our citizens to embrace health and wellness by following all the COVID-19 protocols, taking the vaccine that is available to us, searching for mosquito-breeding sites weekly and destroying them, protecting themselves from mosquito bites, eating a healthy diet and staying physically active. Take responsibility for your health, and work with your private and public healthcare providers to stay healthy and well. We wish for the staff of the Royale Medical Centre a grand 25-year anniversary celebration and many more good years of offering quality healthcare to our citizens.
