The benefits of JSWIFT, according to our stakeholders, span from a reduction in processing time and paper usage to increased transparency, accuracy, accessibility and predictability. The user-friendly electronic platform currently has 10 BRAs on-boarded, with over seventy-one import and export services being delivered to users as the team looks to add more as a part of future plans for the project. To access the convenience of JSWIFT, visit www.jswift.gov.jm, sign up and request user access. Log-in using the required username and password, apply for LPCO, make payment and receive approval from relevant BRA. Customs implements Contactless Clearance Process after successful piloting FULL IMPLEMENTATION of the Contactless Clearance Process will take effect on April 2, 2024 after being partially implemented since May 1, 2023. The reformed clearance process allows importers to ship and clear their non-commercial, less than container load cargo without the hassle of long delays at the ports. One major benefit of the process includes increased integrity in the clearance process with less human resource and more technology usage (CCTV and body-worn cameras). It also makes the clearance process less tedious, reduces customer wait time and congestion within Customs areas. Request Contactless Clearance from your shipping agent!
