Its first clients are the Tony Thwaites Wing, UWI, the Spanish Town Hospital and Life of Jamaica (now Sagicor). 1995 The Company marks its 5th anniversary by acquiring a small property at Collins Green Avenue in Kingston. 2000 MMS celebrates its 10th anniversary. MMS begins operations in Montego Bay. 2001 MMS Foundation is launched. 2004 MMS buys Office Services (2005) Limited and acquires 40 clients. 2005This marks a huge milestone for MMS as it changes location by acquiring its present headquarters, Manpower Centre, at 1 Eureka Road in Kingston. The Company launches the Institute for Workforce Education and Development Limited (IWED). MMS Placement Agency Limited is launched. 2007 Space Rental by MMS is launched. 2008 The Company revises and relaunches its Customer Service Charter. 2009 MMS introduces a new information technology platform to power all aspects of the company’s business processes. 2010 MMS celebrates 20 years of service to Jamaica with over 1200 members of staff and a portfolio of over 192 clients. MMS expands and relaunches its operations in Montego Bay and the Western Region. 2013 MMS opens its third office at 33 Ward Avenue in Mandeville to serve mid-island and the South Coast. 2015 MMS celebrates 25 years of commitment to service excellence. 2020 MMS marks its 30th anniversary, not with the fanfare it anticipated but with working with its many clients and Jamaica in general to combat the Coronavirus Pandemic. 2021 M’Power Women’s Group launched on January 8. The entity is dedicated to the “upliftment” of women “through work and education.” On May 4, thirty-one years after MMS was founded, the company opened its Product Sales and Distribution Centre at its old headquarters, 14 Collins Green Avenue in Kingston. MMS RECEIVES: • The RJRGLEANER Communications Group Platinum Award to Frontline Workers for “courage and sacrifice” during the COVID-19 outbreak in Jamaica (2020). • The RJRGLEANER Communications Group Honour Award for Frontline Workers in Jamaica “for their commitment to the fight against COVID19” (2020) • The Global Services Association of Jamaica (GSAJ) Industry Excellence MANPOWER MOMENTS The prestigious Excellence in Healthcare & Workforce Education Leadership Award from the Bureau of Gender Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport was presented to Mrs Hinchcliffe (right) by the Minister the Honourable Olivia Grange, on March 19, 2025.
