The event is organised by Manpower & Maintenance Services Foundation (MMSF) and supported by a number of Manpower’s corporate partners. The students receive useful school and other supplies as well as cash awards from MMSF. Members of MMS staff participate annually in the ICWI Pink Run event which is supported by the organisation. MMS’ Marketing Manager Sandra Letts presents a gift package to Clarendon’s Spelling Bee champion Mickran Campbell, while Hanover’s representative Romecia Spense (at right ) as well as other parish finalists share the moment. The occasion was the National Finals of the Gleaner’s Children’s Own Spelling Bee Competition 2022/23, held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. All 14 finalists received gift packages courtesy of the MMS Foundation, a contributing sponsor of the competition. Visually impaired UWI Social Work degree student Theador Subba (2nd from left) received a cheque for close to half a million dollars from the Manpower & Maintenance Services Foundation, from CEO of MMS Limited Group Don Gittens (right) to help with his tuition and accommodation at the University. Subba, also a Paralympian in the sport of Judo, aspired to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
