MMS 35TH ANNIVERSARY

NAME OF FEATURE | THE GLEANER | SUNDAY, MAY 11, 2025 30 QUALITY ASSURANCE Coordinator (QAC) Gloria Bennett has been employed to Manpower for 31 years. She recalls that back then, she was without a job, and a friend who worked at MMS told her about the vacancy. She applied and was hired. She started with MMS as assistant supervisor at the Spanish Town Hospital and has worked at both the Kingston Public Hospital, and the Tony Thwaites Wing, UWI, as well as at Sagicor, New Kingston. She was also employed as a senior supervisor at Manpower’s headquarters. As a QAC, a position she has held since 2016, her job is to “visit locations to check on the quality of the work done by janitors. I love this job as I get satisfaction from the clients whenever I see them happy with the quality of work done”, Bennett said. Overall, she says: “I find working at Manpower rewarding. There are times when I get upset when things are not going the way they should, but apart from that,I am satisfied.” She also shared that she has “benefitted a lot from Manpower. I have been helped in many ways. I cannot complain.” She mentioned the fact that the company helped her to educate her daughter and also provided support when she lost her son to violence. “The good that Manpower has done covers everything,” she said. A beneficiary of on-the-job training through The Institute for Workforce Education & Development (IWED), Gloria Bennett says she has learnt how to deal with people “on a different level”, which is necessary for her job. Having spent 31 years with MMS, if she had the opportunity to start over, would she choose to work with the organisation? “Yes! I have had offers from other companies, but there is none, to me, like Manpower,” she said. GLORIA BENNETT Gloria Bennett V terans ,We Celeb ate You! “I find working at Manpower rewarding.
