Despite being done with a high level of empathy, transparency and professionalism, taking decisions that are necessary but unpopular are sometimes viewed as the tough and strict sides of HR,”she said. On a typical day, “I handle the human resources management portfolio for the group of companies as well as having direct responsibility for the human resources outsourcing portfolio for Manpower & Maintenance Business Services (MMBS). The daily functions are directed by the strategic objectives set for the HR Business Services Division which require balancing the day-to-day operational focus with the future strategic focus. This entails engaging with current clients, preparing proposals for prospective clients, engaging with staff, attending meetings and liaising with the CEO. These activities are interspersed with mentorship, coaching and personal sessions with the team.” For Monica, being at MMS is a constant learning and growing experience. “I have developed a strong work ethic and discipline, as well as leadership skills as I am required daily to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. I am also challenged to aim for and achieve continuous self-improvement and to seize opportunities that have propelled my career.” She has remained with the Company because, “I am passionate about what I do. She sees, “Continued acceleration of my career by positioning myself to serve in higher roles with greater responsibilities to contribute more strategically to the organization,”in her future at Manpower.
