Matt boards were presented to the students at Genesis Academy on International 0ptimist Day OCK in response to COVID presented Reddie’s Place of Safety with sanitisation products, toiletries and each child was presented with a OCK 40th Anniversary branded gift bag with personal items and a OCK branded mask. The Optimist Club of Kingston, in partnership with Royal Computers, the Shipping Association of Jamaica, and Transocean Shipping Ltd, donated 40 tablet computers to Genesis Academy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic The OCK, in partnership with the Jamaica Constabulary Force, made a presentation on road safety to students of St Joseph’s Infant School in downtown Kingston. Some 14 of the 18 new members of the Optimist Club of Kingston were formally inducted on August 2 in the Legacy Suite at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, the same room in which the club was formed 40 years ago. The Optimist Club of Kingston’s COVID-19 response to the Salvation Army Home for the Elderly was by sanitising their sofa to ensure that the home is compliant with the Ministry of Health and Wellness protocols.
