NAME OF FEATURE | THE GLEANER | TUESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2020 5 Message OPTIMIST CLUB OF KINGSTON 40TH ANNIVERSARY HELLO, MY Optimist Family: It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the Optimist Club of Kingston for celebrating its 40th year of serving your community and its children through optimism. Forty years, can you “iMagine” it, 40 years of serving your community and the children of Kingston. I know your club has great pride knowing that they have withstood the test of time. What a wonderful life experi- ence and legacy you have for your children and your children’s chil- dren. WOW! How many children’s lives have been affected and saved by the great works of the Optimist Club of Kingston? I would venture to say, more than I can count! You can sleep better at night, knowing you are making and will continue to make a major difference in the children’s lives of Kingston. I tell you, a pessimist has no place in Kingston. A pessimist may be correct sometimes more often than an optimist, however, I know that a Kingston Optimist has more fun, does more good deeds, and serves more children. Let us be grateful to theOptimist Clubof Kingston for they are the kindred spirits who make us happy and who understand that what we do is critical toour children’s growth and spirit. They are the gar- denerswhomake our souls blossom! The Optimist Club of Kingston has developed a vision for the future, and they pursue it with intensity, song, and music. At the end of the day, they are not afraid to have fun and be servant leaders in their communities. I am reminded of the great pro- gress and innovationsOptimists have made over the last 100 years, and the Optimist Club of Kingston has been an unwavering part of this cultural experience for 40 years. This club is always ready to serve at the right time and placewhen the community and children need themmost! Can you“iMagine”the impact that the Optimist Club of Kingston has had over the past 40 years and it will continue to have a positive impact on the children and communities of Kingston for another 40 years!
