His tenure has been marked by transformative initiatives that have significantly advanced the college’s mission. Under Mr Reid’s guidance, SSTC expanded its academic programmes, introducing Bachelor of Education degrees in business and computer studies. He also championed the establishment of the Diagnostic and Early Intervention Centre, a pioneering facility in western Jamaica that provides comprehensive support for at-risk students. Mr Reid’s commitment to sound financial management continues to ensure the college’s fiscal stability, enabling strategic investments in infrastructure and academic programmes. As part of SSTC’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, themed Celebrating Excellence, Advancing the Legacy, he has emphasised the college’s ongoing commitment to shaping the future of education in Jamaica.
