INEZ MORRISON SCHOLARSHIP

Course of study:

Degree

Eligibility:

The award is available to full time registered

students who are Jamaican nationals and pursuing studies

leading to a first degree in any faculty.

Method of selection:

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed

by a panel comprising personnel from the Office of Student

Financing and the Faculty to which the applicant belongs.

Criteria:

The award will be based on verifiable financial need

and high academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.0).

JAMAICA GOVERNMENT EXHIBITION SCHOLARSHIP

Course of study:

Degree

Eligibility:

The award is open to Jamaican Nationals who are

entering Level I or Level II of an undergraduate degree

programme (not full fee paying) in any Faculty of the

University of the West Indies, Mona Campus and not older

than 25 years of age at the start of the academic year for

which they are applying.

Number of Award being offered:

Fifteen per annum

Tuition & contribution towards book grant

Maximum Tenure:

Regular duration of specified programme

Criteria:

Students are required to have high academic

performance in at least three subjects at CAPE Units I and II

and either Communication or Caribbean Studies OR have

attained at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.30 at

Level I of the UWI examinations; have verifiable financial

need; be involved in co-curricular and/or community service

activities and possess strong leadership qualities.

Method of Selection:

Shortlisted candidates will be

interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the

Ministry of Education, Principal’s Association and the

University of the West Indies.

Condition:

Graduates will be required to serve in Jamaica for

a minimum period of two years immediately after graduation.

The bonding period will be determined by the Ministry of

Finance and subject to the amount of money expended.

JANET DAVIS LINDSAY MEMORIAL

Eligibility/Qualifications:

This scholarship is offered in

memory of the former Dean of Local programmes, Janet Davis

Lindsay. This award is open to any applicant who is currently

enrolled in a UCC local programme, and who through no fault

of their own, find themselves unable to complete payment of

their degree programme. This award is meant to be a helping

hand to carry the student forward during a brief but

challenging time. Applicant must be in good academic

standing and able to provide proof of hardship.
